About Me

I am an insured pet care provider living in the Shirlington Village neighborhood of Arlington, VA.

I've always felt a close affinity with animals growing up and have cherished the companionship of my family and friends' pets from my earliest childhood memories, up to today. I have been involved in informal (as in no official affiliation with any groups, but inevitably finding and helping animals in distress as I hiked through my days in Austin, TX)  rescues of strays, neglected pets  (providing both with spay/neuter/vaccinations/facilitating and screening adoptions with the help of other rescue focused volunteers) and reuniting lost cats and dogs to their worried owners. Three of the four cats I've adopted and loved over a 20 year span were street strays I had found.

I had graduated college with a BFA in painting, and continue to practice visual art today. My supporting income originally came from daycare of pre-to-school age children, as well teaching/facilitating art for babies up to seniors.  Among other income streams (art sales, office, retail, artist modeling, Photoshop tech work), I provided in-home  24/7 caregiving to an elderly artist, and a nanny position for a toddler.  All through those 30 years I've helped care for my friends and family pets when needed. I've walked dogs, and sat them along with numerous cats, a rabbit, and a trio of exotic chickens!

I gave one of the app-based, gig economy pet care companies a try, and continued on with that line of work for three years in the DC Metro area. Each and every animal I had regularly worked with became a special friend to me. Of all the variety of work I've performed, pet care has felt like a perfect fit for my temperament, energy, caregiving skills, and love for my animal pals. I've since moved on from the app based company in favor of growing my own client base.

I hope you and your furry ones will consider me for your walking and sitting needs!
